I am just about to complete my 3rd year of textile design in Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and I have decided to specialise in printed textiles. This year has been full of competition based projects including; RSA, Society of Dyiest and Colourists and The Bradford. These projects have allowed me to develop my techniques and drawing skills. As well as textiles I also enjoy expressive painting and I have recently had work with Tasty Canvas who promote, show and sell my work at different events. In my final year I intend on producing a large body of work mainly through screen prints but also with a lot of heavy embroidery embellishments to give my work a rich tactile quality.
My role in the Ninetrades project includes screen printing large areas of fabric which will give me more experience in printing but through working with Clare Thornton I be able to pick up lots of her skills which I will hopefully utilise in my future design practice.
