My name is Rosie Philp and I am 3rd year high school student. I have always been interested in art and visiting exhibitions of Alan Grieve’s has really opened my eyes up to the world of art. Studying art at school has helped me to think more deeply of what artists want to portray in their creations and what point they want to get across. I like to draw and paint and feel I am progressing with practice.
The Nine Trades of Dundee project has been amazing, one of my drawings was made into a poster and then displayed in a hair salon in Dundee. This experience has been fantastic, as I have observed peoples' careers in action. I think the project is great, bringing trade and art together and encouraging people to come together allowing ideas and inspiration to be passed on and then maybe even turning it into a piece of art. Overall I think the project is a great success and I am looking forward to carrying on the project as Alan's apprentice.
