Ruth Aitken

Finishing my second year of Time-Based Art at DJCAD, my work thus far has focused on video and editing, predominantly with a collage aesthetic. I have been interested in looking at media representation, the roles it plays and the persuasive techniques used. This has lead to playing with familiar, found imagery and sound.

Working with David Yu offers a great experience to see more ‘people based’ art, to view how David goes about his work, and to expand my ideas of how art can be practised and create new relationships with the public. Also it offers me the opportunity to engage with Dundee and the people who make it up, whom I may not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.
