The 6 new artists are building up their projects and contacts, see Pippa's events on this page and Clare will be in Dundee later this month for meetings with costumiers, sewing shops and fabric firms.
Best Blog entry of the week to David Yu for his research around Dundee’s Bars
Artist WLTM...
Artist and seamstress Clare Thornton is collecting stories and memories about Dundee’s textile trade and related industries. She is curious to hear your stories about working within these trades and is working on a new art work for the Nine Trades of Dundee project.
Are you working now or have you ever been a:
Tailor, Seamstress, Machinist, Weaver, Pattern Cutter, Fashion/Clothing
Retailer, Clothes Designer, Costume Maker, Dyer & Printer, Draper,
Upholsterer, Embroiderer, Milliner... (any related apparel/fabric connected
service)
If so Clare would like to hear your experiences whether an epic tale, a trade-secret or recollections about
everyday working life.
