Ben Robinson

Ben Robinson, a 2007 Masters of Design graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone, cites that his practice involves making ‘art happen from what would previously be dismissed’. A customer service advisor at the HBOS retail call centre in their Nethergate branch in Dundee, he plans to show that there is room for art in the working environment by gathering the ‘doodles’ that many people draw during their time at work. Working with a group of colleagues they will form a printmaking group at DCA that meets once a week over a three-month period, to turn the doodles into something ‘more monumental’. The resulting works will be framed and hung in the working and public environment of the branch. This exhibition will then tour to other call centres in Dundee.

The project will take place between July and September 2009.
